What is your favorite form of physical exercise?
Let’s be honest physical exercise isn’t my strong point. But I think that’s okay. This drive to become healthy as a society has led to a disproportionate focus on physicality. But as a physically disabled person of course I would say something like that, right?
But I think it’s valid to say that physicality isn’t everything. And you can live a healthy life without valuing physicality.
However this doesn’t mean that I’m not a physical person, it just means I experience physicality differently.
The little things in my day to day life form a lot of exercise for me. And in my experience is this that non-disabled people overlook, the importance of the little things.
The little bits of exercise involved in doing things everyday.
Now for me things are more difficult physically, and my body requires more energy to complete them. So it is fair fo me to say that I get more exercise than most from the little things. But that doesn’t mean everyone else gets none from doing things.
Don’t put to much pressure on yourself to exercise. Focus on what works for you as a person, not what everyone else is telling you that you should be doing to exercise.
